British Indian Ocean Territory (Chagos Archipelago)

The British Indian Ocean Territory lies in the central Indian Ocean, south of the equator, at the southern end of the Chagos-Laccadive Ridge. Its central area has five atolls with islands, together with numerous other atolls and banks that are submerged to various depths, from being awash at low tide to having an upper limit of 20 m depth or more.
